Delete your account
Wrecklanders: Idle Island (web and Android app) · Simon Streblow · Deutsch
Wrecklanders has no sign-up with name or e-mail. When you play for the first time, the game creates a pseudonymous account (a random ID, without name, e-mail or password). Your cloud save, your island name and your friends are linked to it. You can delete this account at any time, in two ways:
Option 1: In the game or the app (immediately)
- Open Wrecklanders (the app or wrecklanders.com) on the device you play on.
- Tap the gear (⚙️ Settings) at the top of your island.
- Scroll all the way down and tap “Delete all my data”.
- Confirm. Your account and all its data are deleted from the server right away, as well as the save on this device. The game then starts with a new, empty island.
Note: “Start over” in the settings does not delete your account, it only resets your island.
Option 2: Without the app, by e-mail
Already uninstalled the app or can't get to your game any more? Write to us. Because the account has no name or e-mail, we need something to recognise your island:
- Your code (6–8 characters): in the game under “Friends”, at the very bottom as “Your code: …”. It is also part of your invite link (
wrecklanders.com/?ref=CODE) if you ever shared it. - Your island name and roughly which era you reached.
- Whether you played in the Android app or in the browser.
Write a “Delete account” e-mail
or directly to simonstreblow@googlemail.com, subject “Delete account”
We check that the code and island name match, then delete the account with all its data and confirm by e-mail. This happens within one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR), usually within a few days. If the details don't match, we ask back, so nobody can delete someone else's island. We use your e-mail only for this request and delete it once the request is done.
Tip: write down your code before uninstalling the app. Without the code we can only find your account if island name and era are unique.
What gets deleted
- Your pseudonymous account (random ID) and the device ID
- Your cloud save, your island name and your invite code
- Friendships and help between friends (your island disappears from your friends' lists)
- Push addresses and scheduled reminders (web version)
- Game statistics linked to your account, your source channel and the day you last played
- Feedback you sent from inside the game
With option 1, the save on the device is deleted as well. With option 2, it stays on any device where the game is still installed until you uninstall the app or clear the browser data.
What stays and for how long
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Backup copies of the database (daily, for emergencies only) | Until the copy is overwritten: we keep the last 14 copies, so usually 14 days. If we ever had to restore a copy, we would delete your account again right away. |
| Error reports (no account, no IP address, cannot be linked to you) | 90 days |
| Anonymous totals (e.g. “how many islands of a week are still played on day 7”), not linked to your account | 13 months |
| Short-lived server logs of our database provider Supabase (including IP address) | According to the provider's retention, we do not store them ourselves |
Data at Google (app only)
The optional ad videos in the app are delivered by Google AdMob, and the app itself comes from Google Play. Google processes this data as an independent controller; we cannot delete it for you. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android settings and manage your ad settings in My Ad Center. More in the privacy policy, section 8.
